Speaking at the event, Donald Tsang, said: “Time to start a new direct flight is very well chosen. Only last year we introduced a bilateral visa-free regime between Russia and Hong Kong. Since then, a significant increase in the number of passengers traveling in both directions. Also, for the first 6 months of this year, our economy has largely recovered from the global financial crisis. The volume of bilateral trade between Russia and Hong Kong increased by more than 2 times during the first 6 months of this year, compared to the same period last year. ”
“The new direct flights will contribute to more active development of tourism and trade between our countries and will further strengthen existing relationships,” – added Mr Tsang.
