Delta Airlines announces the opening of a new non-stop flight from Kiev – New York

Within the biggest in the history of the company expanding route network Delta Air Lines will provide non-stop flights to 11 new routes to Europe and the Middle East in addition to the two existing international destinations from transatlantic airports Hartsfield-Jackson (Atlanta) and John F. Kennedy – JFK (New York). Such a significant expansion of our route network will enable Delta to bypass other airlines offering flights from the U.S. to Europe. As part of this expansion Delta announced the opening of a new daily non-stop flight on the route Kiev – New York (JFK) to June 6, 2006.

“As part of an active customer-centric program to expand the network of routes company Delta increased by 25 per cent share of international flights by opening new flights to the most popular areas of the global network of passenger airlines,” – said Gerald Grinstein, Chairman of the airline Delta. “Starting with only 1 January this year, Delta announced its intention and willingness to serve more than 50 international routes. In addition to expanding the network announced today we are opening and we plan to serve an additional 14 new routes to Latin America, the Caribbean basin from the airport in Atlanta. That is why our passengers choose an airline Delta for international flights.

New airline routes, opening in spring 2006:

* Edinburgh, Scotland – Atlanta (May 5)
* Athens, Greece – Atlanta (May 30)
* Venice, Italy – Atlanta (June 7)
* Nice, France – Atlanta (May 10)
* Dublin / Shannon, Ireland – New York (JFK) (16 May)
* Manchester, England – New York (JFK) (c 16 May)
* Budapest, Hungary – New York (JFK) (9 May)
* Tel-Aviv, Israel – Atlanta (previously announced to March 28)
* Dusseldorf, Germany – Atlanta (previously announced April 4)
* Copenhagen, Denmark – Atlanta (previously announced on May 2)

In addition to the above routes, from 1 May 2006, Delta will also provide non-stop flight on the route Atlanta-Shannon (Ireland) during the summer season, thus extending the existing schedule of flights between Atlanta and Dublin. Also in high demand season, Delta will increase the number of flights between New York (JFK) and Rome.

Expanding the network of routes the airline will allow Delta to take a leading position among the air carriers across the Atlantic.

The company continues to strengthen its position as a leader in air transportation in Latin America and the Caribbean, in connection with what is planned to open over 28 new routes in the 2005-2006 year, including flights from Atlanta to Managua (Nicaragua), the island of Roatan and San Pedro Sula (Honduras), Santo Domingo (Dominican Republic), etc. Given these innovations Delta will become the most actively growing company – an air carrier, carries out flights from major airports in the southeast United States in Latin America and the Caribbean, as well as offer customers second most important flights in South and Central America.

Also in 2006, Delta will begin renovating the interior of the entire international fleet to make the journey more comfortable for passengers.
